Francisco Carreño 2024 Awards. UMH Library BIBac Project

University

17 October 2024

The Chair of Accessibility and Inclusive Environment ‘Francisco Carreño Castilla’ of the Miguel Hernández University of Elche and the Asisa Foundation presented the Francisco Carreño 2024 Awards at a ceremony held on 16 October.

One of them has gone to the UMH LIBRARY, specifically the distinction and award in the section ‘Breaking Barriers 2024’ has been for the BIBac Project: Accessible Libraries, which aims to ‘improve accessibility to all those with functional diversity, whether they are members of the university community or not’ and make available the available resources and specific support products.

Thanks to the synergies established between the UMH Library Service and its four branches on the UMH campuses, with the Chair itself, the Vice-Rectorate for Research and Transfer and the Disability Support Unit, ‘progress has been made in the application of the rights recognised in the regulations for the inclusion of people with disabilities at UMH’.
