10 March 2026

On the occasion of Open Education Week 2026, held from March 2 to 6, Miguel Hernández University organized the conference “Visibility and Impact: Democratizing Knowledge through OER at the UMH”. The event, organized by the Library Service and the Innovation and Technological Planning Service, aims to raise awareness of the potential of Open Educational Resources (OER) to expand access to knowledge and enhance the visibility of teaching materials generated at the university.

The conference is now available for viewing. Both the full video of the session and the presentation used during the talk are available to anyone interested, with the aim of continuing to promote the dissemination of knowledge and the use of open educational resources within and outside the university community.

During the session, the main advantages of OER were discussed, including the possibility of sharing educational materials freely and reusably, promoting collaboration among teachers, and facilitating open access to knowledge. It was also explained how these resources contribute to improving the academic and social impact of university teaching, allowing students, faculty, and citizens to benefit from quality educational content.

The UMH’s participation in Open Education Week 2026 reinforces its commitment to open education and the democratization of access to knowledge through initiatives that promote the creation and dissemination of open educational materials."Biblioteca
