International Women’s Day 2026 at UMH Libraries

5 March 2026

To mark International Women’s Day, the Miguel Hernández University Library has organised a bibliographic exhibition on the Elche campus featuring essays focusing on gender equality, female empowerment and the presence of women in different areas of society.

The proposal seeks to invite reflection and broaden perspectives through key works of feminist thought and contemporary narrative. It includes both titles by established authors and texts that have marked a turning point in the history of feminism. Among the selected books are essays that analyse the influence of women in culture, science, politics and art. You can consult some of the works at the following link.

In addition, we have prepared a complementary selection of novels written by young authors, giving space to new voices that are renewing the current literary landscape and contributing fresh and committed perspectives.
