The UMH Library participates in the First BUVAL Meeting

4 November 2025

On 30 October, the Miguel Hernández University Library took part in the 1st BUVAL Meeting, an event organised by the University of Valencia’s Library and Documentation Service, which brought together around 45 representatives from the Valencian universities that make up the BUVAL Consortium at the La Nau building.

The opening ceremony took place in the Capilla de la Sapiencia and featured speeches by Cristina Tomás, technical director of the BUVAL Consortium, and Carlos Hermenegildo, vice-rector for Research at the University of Valencia, who welcomed all attendees on behalf of their institutions.

During the day, parallel meetings were held by the different BUVAL working groups (Acquisitions, Open Science, Interlibrary Loans, Web and Communication, and Library Management Systems) and lines of action were planned for the period 2025-2026.

The participation of the UMH Library in this first meeting reaffirms its commitment to library cooperation and the continuous improvement of library services, in line with the principles of innovation, open access, and shared knowledge management promoted by the BUVAL Consortium.
