BUVAL, the Consortium of University Libraries of the Valencian Community, was established on May 11, 2021 with the signature of the 5 rectors of the Valencian public universities.

In this first phase, the BUVAL Consortium offers as outstanding services the BUVAL Search, which makes it possible to retrieve results of materials from the five libraries and the BUVAL Loan, which will allow the PDI and the use of the loan in any of the participating libraries.

The cooperation has begun with the design and implementation of the website of the BUVAL Consortium, the Consortium of University Libraries of the Valencian Community, which can now be visited at this web address. The website has been built by a working group of the five participating libraries. Buval.es will be hosted in a space provided by the Jaume I University of Castelló and has been made with the WordPress software.

In the web menu you will find four important sections. First, the section “The Consortium” with information on the participating universities, the objectives and the Statutes of the signed Agreement. Second, information on the BUVAL Loan, which will allow PDI and PAS to borrow up to 6 copies for 15 days at any of the participating libraries. Third, the BUVAL Search, which allows the retrieval of results of materials from the five university libraries. And, finally, the web collects the institutional repositories demonstrating the commitment of the five universities to open access.
