The UMH Book Club continues to hold meetings; our next meeting is on October 27 at the UMH Library on the Elche campus, in the Altabix Building.

This month we’ve selected “Nada” by Carmen Laforet. This novel dazzled critics and shook up postwar literature, winning the 1944 Nadal Prize and becoming an absolute classic. The story follows Andrea, a young woman who travels to Barcelona to study at the university but ends up trapped in a sordid and suffocating domestic environment.
