Six-year periods of research

Six-year periods of research are an official recognition that evaluates the quality and impact of the research work carried out by teaching and research staff. Through the National Commission for the Evaluation of Research Activity (CNEAI), ANECA evaluates applications for research periods, analysing the most relevant contributions of each researcher to determine their contribution to the advancement of knowledge in their field.

Call for applications

This call for applications establishes two different submission periods:

Civil servants: from 9 to 30 January 2026.

Contract staff: from 9 February to 2 March 2026.

Support materials produced by the Library

The library aims to facilitate this process by offering support in locating publications, consulting databases, verifying impact indicators, and using specialised tools. Here you will find guides, useful links, and practical advice designed to make your journey easier.

Examples of narratives

Narrative bibliometrics is a tool for explaining in detail and meaningfully the data that show how research carried out during the period evaluated has been disseminated and what impact it has had. Following CoARA principles, the information provided must be contextualised, multidimensional and subject to objective verification.
