The BNE and REBIUN are launching a new collection of websites focused on the pure and natural sciences

1 September 2026

The National Library of Spain, through the Spanish Web Archive, and the Network of Spanish University and Scientific Libraries (REBIUN) have joined forces to launch a new collection of websites focused on the pure and natural sciences, covering topics such as mathematics, astronomy, physics, and biology.

This collaboration has given rise to a new collection, which includes more than 500 websites that fill a significant gap in the Spanish Web Archive—namely, the field of pure and natural sciences—and is in line with the previously created collection, also the result of this same collaboration, on computer science and the Internet. This new collection ranges from blogs that explore science in an accessible way to the websites of cutting-edge Spanish research projects in the aforementioned fields.

Access to the archived websites will be limited to computers at the National Library of Spain and the network of conservation centers in the autonomous communities. However, the websites included in the collection can be accessed through the Search tool of the Spanish Web Archive | National Library of Spain.
