As part of Open Access Week 2025, the REBIUN Repositories Working Group held an online conference entitled “Implementación práctica de los principios y compromisos de CoARA en ANECA” given by Pilar Paneque, director of the Spanish National Agency for Quality Assessment and Accreditation (ANECA).

During the session, Pilar Paneque explained how ANECA is specifically applying the principles of the CoARA (Coalition for Advancing Research Assessment) agreement, an international initiative that seeks to transform research and academic career evaluation systems. The conference offered a detailed overview of the changes underway, the role of evaluation agencies, and the challenges facing the scientific community in the face of this new, more open and qualitative model.
