Welcome Days at UMH Libraries

10 September 2025

The Miguel Hernández University Libraries have kicked off their traditional Welcome Days for new students. These sessions allow students to discover all the services that the Library has to offer and familiarize themselves with the different spaces: from the study rooms and newspaper library to the reading corner and loan desk.

In the first few days, we have already been visited by groups of students from various degrees, including Law, Biotechnology, and Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, who have shown interest in learning more about the resources available to support their academic training.

During the sessions, Library staff accompany students on a practical tour of the different types of documents they can consult and borrow, explaining the deadlines, quantities, and renewal options.

In addition, new students receive specific training to learn how to use DAMA, the Library’s search engine, a key tool for locating academic and research materials. These sessions provide a simple explanation of the search options, how to log in to the platform, make reservations, and manage loans online.

With these sessions, the UMH Library reaffirms its commitment to being an open, accessible, and fundamental space in the university life of those who are now beginning their academic journey.
